Jay Mayne ChopTrees Mixtape

August 29, 2010

I’ve been on a pretty big mixtape kick lately and a little while back came accross this one and thought it was worth sharing. WeActivist and Nova Scotia resident Jay Mayne just released his mixtape Chop Trees. It’s definitly worth a download. Go In is in my opinion the best track on the album. Check it out and enjoy.

More Hot Mixtapes

August 29, 2010

Here are a couple more hot mixtapes. A couple of these are now a bit older, as in a month, 2 tops but they are so good that I thought they were still note worthy.

Better than his first full album Wale seems to kill it on his mixtapes and miss on his albums… Oh well, mixtapes are free so it works out in our favor and his latest More About Nothing is his best yet. Download it HERE.

Here’s another good one worth a download. G.O.O.D Ass Mixtape features a few new tracks from Kid Cudi and Kanye. The album has a few soft songs that are best to just skip over, or listen if that’s your thing.

Download it HERE

Always worth looking out for is The Cool Kids. They’ve got a new album on the way so stay tuned, it should be good.

The fact that these artists make all of these albums available for FREE downloads continues to blow my mind. Most of them are better than their albums you have to pay for.

Check em and enjoy.

Ken Block’s Gymkhana THREE, Part 1; The Music Video Infomercial (feat. The Cool Kids)

August 24, 2010

Is it a car video? Is it a hip hop video? Is it an infomercial?  Is it a new Gymkhana? Or is it just 100% rad? Yup, yup, yup, yup and yup. Ken Black is at it again. This time he’s rocking it in a Ford, with The Cool Kids and a bunch of ladies, lights and some fixies. It’s just all amazing. Oh yeah, and there’s a new collection of shoes in there too.

Check it and enjoy!

Murder of Couriers

August 24, 2010

I’m really looking forward to this video. Can’t wait to see the couriers of Vancouver tear up the city. I work just outside the city so I rarely get to see them but it’s always sweet to see it go down in your city. These guys look intense but they look like they can move and the trailer ends with one of the best cycling lines I’ve heard so far: “Put some fucking fun between your legs…get on a bike”.
Life is better when your on a bike…

To Live and Ride in LA

August 24, 2010

This video looks like it’s going to be pretty good. I may be on my own on this one but I much prefer the Go-Fast fixed gear videos over the new trick videos. The new trick videos look awkward although they seem to be dominating these days…just sayin. Still the benchmark video is MASH SF, we’ll see how this one compares when it drops. So far, so good

Hurley X LDG X Dalek Collaboration

August 9, 2010

Hurley has linked up with LDG (Livery Design Gruppe) who have in turn joined forces with artist Dalek (James Marshall) to create a rolling masterpiece… a very bright masterpiece. These fixed gear bikes were commissioned by Hurley to support their line of ultra high-end Phantom boardshorts and swimwear.

Above is the first of five bikes that are being released, the rest are below. The bikes are being raffled off at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA. They are really bright but if you’re familiar with Dalek’s work then you know these bikes are right up his alley. Having been a long time fan of Dalek (especially the space monkies) I have to say, the project looks pretty sweet and I’d ride one without an ounce of hesitation. I love me my bull horn bars and the frames look amazing.

Check out more details at LDG, Dalek Site, and see the shorts at Hurley

Single Second X Truth Of A Liar

August 4, 2010

Canadian clothing company Single Second has teamed up with fellow Canadian brand and blog Truth Of A Liar in a good ol’ fashioned Tee-collab. Here at The New New, we love killer collabs… we’ve had a few great ones lately and we’d like to add this one to the list. The only thing we like more than a great collab is a very limited collab and this one meets that criteria too. They’ve only made 50 of them and they’re moving quick… What’s left of them can be found HERE. Check out both Single Second and Truth Of A Liar for other offerings and to learn more about the collaboration.
